Everything in Spain seems tinged with red: the whirling skirts moving to the rhythm of flamenco, the flash of the Matador's cape, the fast-flowing sangria and the strong, passionate character of the Spanish people. One exception is the bright blue of the Mediterranean sea, along with the sparkle of yachts moored in the distance. So why not let the sea guide you around this unique country, which for centuries has been a meeting place between Europe and Africa?
An ideal departure point is Barcelona, with its excellent facilities and international transport connections. Here, the best of Gothic and medieval architecture form a backdrop for some of the most frenetic nightlife in Spain. From here, you can go northwards to the Costa Brava, sail south along the Costa Blanca, or sail away from the coast towards the Balearic islands, with Majorca, Palma, Ibiza and Formentera among the best known destinations. Sun, a mild climate, excellent sailing conditions, a jagged coastline, golden beaches and tropical waters... what more could you ask for?
