Porto di Levante is the island little centre town with the port , where most of the action takes place and it’s the main center of the island for local people and the tourists. You can find there many restaurants with delicious local food, small bars and cafes, bikes and motorcycle rentals and many more. The water front promenade in Porto di Lavante heading right takes you straight to the mud bath - natural thermal pool called La Pozza dei Fanghi, which extract bubbles of volcanic gases. This natural and therapeutic mud baths and hot springs has a beneficial effect on health and beauty, you need to try and ignore the smell of sulphur. Close to the natural mud pool, visitors often enjoy swimming in warm waters where hot underwater springs flow up into the sea, the area is known as “acque calde” or “hot waters”.
there are floating wharfs or buoys, where you can moor in Porto Levante or anchor off in the bay to the north of the ferry pier. Depths here range from 3.0 – 10.0 metres and holding is good in mud with atntion to the mud bath and hot springs.The Porto Levante is a main ferry terminal and can get busy during summer months. Great to get from here to visit the area.
